The first major innovation is the button angle. Legacy remote tape switches feature a flat pad that forces users to strain their thumbs in an unnatural angle to apply consistent pressure to activate a momentary function. Hot Button presents the activation button at a 45-degree angle for an exponentially more comfortable press. This is especially important when activating the button under pressure. A raised, crenelated bezel protects the button from accidental actuation, while providing a tactile index point for the user’s thumb. Because Hot Button is angled, the overall footprint is much smaller than factory OEM pressure pads. Not only does this clean up rails on traditional weapons, but it greatly increases the accessory layout options on smaller SMG and PDW’s.

If that weren’t enough, we have designed two separate versions of Hot Button that will attach directly to either Mil-Std M1913 Picatinny or M-LOK rail interface. Both rail systems are approved and standardized by the US Department of Defense for use on issued weapons. Hot Button secures to these rails with hardware, eliminating the need for Velcro, 100mph Tape, or Zip Ties. This secure attachment method ensures your switches stay on the gun (in the location you placed them) regardless of battlefield abuse.

Hot Button is available for standard Surefire tail caps, Streamlight Pro-Tac models, and standard Crane-Style laser ports (found in B.E. Meyers, Holosun, Insight/L-3, Steiner, and Wilcox products).

The Hot Button is a constant on switch

* “FDE” is used throughout our catalog to reference a spectrum of colors that include tan, brown, bronze, earth, and everything in between. Due to the chemical process that takes place during Type III Hardcoat, the final finish can vary from part to part (even parts done in the same batch). Therefore, your “FDE” product may vary from other parts from UNITY and other companies, and may vary from the photos shown online.

I have not personally had any issues with my Mod Button or Mod Button Lite switches. However, this switch has essentially no reported issues that I am aware of. I have had zero issues with mine and I do really like the ability to have constant on. I really like the ergonomics of the ramp as well. I have some other Mod Button Lite switches on the HRF ramps, and this Hot Button is definitely preferred. As an added bonus, it has less parts and attachment paint than the “Lite” combos. I don’t think you can go wrong either way, but I also think the Hot Button is the way to go unless you need more than one switch on the top of your pic rail.

The superior remote light switch. After using multiple modbuttons and having them either fail or have issues with overheating and resistance this takes all the guesswork and temperament out of the switch. Works similar to the classic surefire button rear end, has a clicky full time on that can be “soft-pressed” for temporary light. Highly recommend dielectric grease for UE tailcaps

My go to tapeswitch. Will not run anything else

The Unity Hot rail mount version is still my preferred WML switch as it has a very positive constant on click and can still be tapped for momentary easily without that being easy to accidentally engage thanks to the helpful fencing around the button.
The top (rail mounted) position also makes it very easy to activate with either hand as you are changing your mounting of the rifle from side to side inside structures.
Truly the only downside is the price and then the need to get a Surefire adapter to connect it to the WML of your choice. If that’s not already a Surefire, that’s an extra cost. That said, for me, the price is worth the functionality of the ecosystem, 100%.

Requires dielectric grease to function 100% with surefire ue tail caps.
