detach variable-power optic mounts, ROTAPOINT’s new 34-degree offset red dot mount offers shooters a
simple, rugged, and fast solution to transition effortlessly between primary and back-up optics.
With a consistent cheek weld and no head movement, a slight twist of the wrist quickly switches between optics.
ROTAPOINT’s unique, patent-pending attachment method leverages the strength and stability of the
primary optic mount’s cantilever and is secured with custom alloy steel Torx screws.
This highly effective solution minimizes interference with existing optics, lasers, or flashlights, and reduces
snagging. Furthermore, this method frees space on the upper receiver and handguard for other uses.
Assembly takes under 3 minutes and does not require scope ring removal.

Admittedly, this is a niche product. There’s a ton of options on the market that solve the “offset RDS” problem, either by attaching something directly to the tube of your LPVO, as a replacement half to your mount ring, or directly installed on your upper’s pic rail. In any event, these solutions usually mean you’re dealing with a “sore thumb” that sticks out from the side of your AR. Not good, if you’re going for a non-snag silhouette, and especially not good as most of these RDS mount solutions are at angle-of-degrees that can be uncomfortable or less-than-ideal when switching from LPVO to RDS. However, with the RotaPoint, I found that it tucks nicely against my Larue cantilever mount (an LT-104 in 30mm), which nicely eliminates the “sore thumb” issue as much as possile, but more importantly, it drastically reduces the angle needed utilize the RDS. Overall, I’m pleased with the product, it’s well built and does a terrific job for what it was designed for. My only criticism stems from the fact that you’ll need a Larue cantilever mount for it, which, at the time of this writing, Larue has discontinued the LT-104, which may limit your choices when pairing this product with other Larue mount solutions.
