Here is what separates IMR cells from standard Li-Ion:
IMR cells are a specialized Li-Mn (Lithium Manganese) chemistry specifically designed for high-drain applications. While they excel at delivering massive discharge rates, their capacity is much more limited than a Li-Ion of the same size. The KeepPower 18350 is the highest capacity IMR battery in this size, but it will only deliver 35 minutes of run-time on the highest power setting in a PLH or OKW light.
These cells are what we include when you purchase a complete 18350 size light from us. They are a traditional button top which makes the cells easy to identify positive and negative at night in the dark or under NODs. We also offer a non protected version flat top version of this cell that has an 8amp current limit here. We recommend the protected cells but for those of you comfortable with handling batteries the non protected cells to offer a bit more current.

These Modlite-recommended 18350 batteries are awesome. Obviously the have a lower capacity in terms of mHa but the quality is superb. Lots of cycles without power loss and RELIABLE. Highly recommended.

Batteries are an area where quality matters, especially with high drain output lights. I am using these with a Surefire M600DF head and Valhalla Tactical EDC handheld body – great combo!

I purchased these to feed the Modlite PLH and OKW that I also got here from Ike.
The form-factor and weight (or lack thereof) of the single 18350 really makes for a very compact and lightweight package.
Keep a few spares (in a proper storage case – the fact that this pair of cells comes with their own storage case is a huge plus in my book) with your on-body gear, and you’re set for a good stretch of having some serious lighting power.
As I wrote in my Keeppower 18650 review, don’t skimp on batteries – don’t chase a dollar or two by going with an unknown vendor or someone who may be hiding behind the veil of an online marketplace. Get good batteries like the KeepPower directly from a vendor that you know and trust like Ike! These little cells are no joke when it comes to the power they contain: don’t risk damage to your gear and property with an unknown.
