The Gen 3 Ambidextrous Charging Handle is designed to be significantly more robust than a GI handle as well as giving and ambidextrous capability. The Gen 3 latches are just the right size and shape to give you rapid access while having a generous radii to avoid being a snag hazard. Machined from 7075 T6 forgings, this handle is significantly stronger than those made from billet or extrusions. Large Stainless Steel pins hold the latches in place, and the mechanism is operated by a Stainless Steel sling. The charging handle is high quality and very well made. It functions how you would expect an ambi to perform. Size is nice and I appreciate the design. Similar to other charging handles it feels loose and flimsy if the bolt is already back. Was kind of hoping for tighter tolerances in the shaft but it’s mil spec I suppose. The only other reason I gave 4 stars is because of the color. I got tan anodized and it’s really more like a gold color, which didn’t match anything else I had that is on the tan spectrum. Good if you are going for 50 shades of FDE. Otherwise I recommend just stick with black for this component.

Badger ordnance anything is great, this handle is no exception. Fit and finish are better than other big name handles I have. The handles are large, but are nicely rounded and contoured. If you are looking for a low profile latch, this isn’t your handle. If you need easy access under a lpvo, this might be the ticket.
