The Legacy Enhanced Driver (T) – Throw Light Head is designed for those who prefer a tighter hotspot (throw), with a lower amount of flood.
Duel Fuel – This light can function with a single 16650 battery cell or TWO cr123s. The runtime will vary based on the cell used.
It will NOT function on M300 or 300 style bodies (single cr123). Two CR123 cells in series are required. Damage to persons and property may occur if a single cell is used.

I purchased this upgrade/update head for my legacy Surefire M600-Scout, which is mounted to my backup training class carbine.
Initially purchased with the then-top-of-the-line Surefire 600-lumen LED, I first updated/upgraded to the Malkoff E2HT/16650 combo a few years ago. This year, as I worked to upgrade/update my household use flashlights after moving to a larger property, I decided to also have a more comprehensive look at my WMLs. With a Modlite OKW already on my training class carbine and using the handheld PLH 5K and PLHv2 as EDC and in handgun classes, I was intimately familiar with the performance of these lights at-range, wanted something that would get me in the ballpark of the performance of the PLH, without breaking the bank or having to “waste” my legacy setup.
I was very happy to see that Modlite offered this retrofit to my legacy Surefire bodies, and its performance (between CQB distances to the 100-yard-line) does not disappoint. Compared against the E2HT, the Legacy Enhanced LED-T puts out more usable light both up-close as well as downrange, and specs at longer run-time than the E2HT.
As an aside, this head is also cross-compatible with the Malkoff MDSFFE-2 Surefire Forend replacement, and makes for a formidable, price-competitive alternative (especially when purchased on-sale) to the Surefire LMB-2 update (white-waller, more comparable to the “F” version).
