1 review for Staccato C2 DPO CARRY Optics Ready | STI 9mm 10-1601-000102

As some background I have 1400 rd and two courses with the pistol so far. There are no shortage of reviews of Staccatos out there and I am not going to try to cover everything.

Relative to this SKU, I think the DLC barrel at an additional $100 on top of $2300 is a no brainer. I went with the Carry front sight because I knew I was going to mount a Holosun EPS Carry. I think the optic cut should be standard in 2023 and I wouldn’t understand someone not getting an optic ready version. The pistols has had no malfunctions of any kind with ammunition from various manufacturers and hollowpoints from Speer, Federal, and Hornady. This track record included using it in a course with heavy rain and another course where the magazines were gritty with sand. Reliability with the firearm in my sample of one has been excellent. Accuracy is also quite good, which is further enabled by a 3 lb. 12 oz. trigger as measured on a Lyman digital gauge. My best zero group at 12 yd was 3/4″. Fit and finish of the firearm have also been excellent, with the DLC coating holding up better than any external coating I have had on dozens of handguns (including Glock’s DLC).

In terms of negatives, cost is the largest. I have tricked out service pistols like Glocks and Walther PDPs with modifications and even that don’t lag too far behind this pistol and are a fraction of the cost, even with aftermarket parts. The expensive of the optic plates and magazines is also high, even if they are well made. If I had to answer if this is “worth the cost”, in terms of just performance alone I don’t think I can honestly say yes. However, the quality of the product and the shooting experience does give a pride of ownership where I don’t regret this purchase. Lastly, if you have small hands or short fingers this pistol will likely require some changes in handling due to the width of the grip. This includes breaking your grip to hit the magazine release or using your off hand to do that. Grip reductions are available from some vendors online, though they’re typically $300 or so. I have shot this in comparison to a Staccato CS, and I think this wins over the CS. The grip of the CS is only slightly thinner and the shooting experience of the C2 seems noticeably better.
