Previously licensed and distributed by BCM as the original GUNFIGHTER™ Charging Handle, VLTOR’s patented design is back on the market. It’s the same exact charging handle design you’ve known and loved since 2009, simply re-released under strictly our own moniker.
The VLTOR Charging Handle is a patented design that redirects the force off of the latch’s roll pin and into the body of the charging handle, which is especially crucial during support hand only manipulations. This design makes the charging handle stronger and less prone to roll pin or latch breakage. The VLTOR Charging Handle design has proven itself over the last decade, both domestically and abroad.
The SF-44 is the medium latch, ambidextrous version.

The VLTOR Gunfighter rivals the Forward Controls Design ACF as the superior design of charging handles. Both manifest the principle of form following function and the maxim, “True refinement seeks simplicity” (Bruce Lee). However, the ACF suffers incompatibility by being about .015″ too thick at the top of its channel for the piston rod key on the Sig Sauer 516 bolt carrier. Consequently, the ACF and 516 bolt carrier group fails to fit and reciprocate within the upper receiver functionally. The subtle difference in tolerance and the compatibility with the Sig 516 platform makes the Gunfighter superior to the ACF.

This thing is radical. Very smooth operation, and well put together. I’ve got Vltor CH in all my ARs, but this is the first ambi one i’ve gotten from them. Only con for me is these don’t help with gas blowback from suppressor use.
