BTO Weekly Update #60 (UNITY 4X, Holosun 515GM, Duramag FDE mags, HUXWRX Flow 556K)

UNITY Tactical FAST FTC 4X Magnifier

In this week’s update, Chris introduces the groundbreaking UNITY Tactical 4X Fast Magnifier. This innovative product is the first integrated magnifier on the market, combining the mount and magnifier into one unit. It features a 2.26″ optical centerline height, aligning with UNITY‘s FAST mount system. The integration not only reduces weight and increases strength but also ensures seamless functionality without obstructing the primary optic when stowed.

Chris highlights the magnifier’s fast detach lever, allowing for quick swapping between firearms or mission sets. The optical glass provides excellent clarity and durability, while UNITY’s FTC (flip-to-center) technology enables easy stowage when not in use. Designed to pair with a red dot at the same height, the FAST FTC 4X offers superior picture clarity, using the primary optic’s red dot as the aiming reticle.

This versatile magnifier can be mounted on various weapon platforms or used as a handheld monocular. It comes standard with an integrated QD lever for quick attachment and detachment. While FAST 4x has the typically short eye relief common to magnifiers, the overall package offers a compelling solution for shooters seeking enhanced magnification capabilities in a streamlined, user-friendly design.

Holosun HS515GM

Next up is the Holosun HS515GM optic. This 20mm micro sight is designed for durability and versatility, making it suitable for both sporting and professional use on rifles and carbines. The HS515GM offers multiple reticle options, including a red dot or a circle dot, similar to an EOTech-style reticle. This Multi-Reticle System (MRS) allows users to choose between a 2 MOA dot, or a 2 MOA dot with a 65 MOA circle, providing flexibility for different shooting scenarios.

One of the standout features is the optic’s impressive battery life, boasting over 50,000 hours of use. This longevity is achieved through Holosun’s Shake Awake technology, which conserves power by deactivating the LED when not in use and instantly reactivating it upon detecting motion. The HS515GM also features a solar panel backup on top, adding to its reliability. It comes with sacrificial lens covers and a pre-installed hex flash kill hider, enhancing its durability and functionality. Built from 7075 T6 aluminum with a hard-anodized finish, the HS515GM is robust and weather-resistant, boasting an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating. It includes clear, removable, and rotating lens caps, and a QD lower 1/3 co-witness mount (1.63″ height).

The optic offers 12 brightness settings, including 8 for daylight and 4 night-vision compatible options. It’s parallax-free with unlimited eye relief, making it user-friendly in various situations.

The HS515GM is compatible with the Aimpoint T2 footprint and can be set up on various mounts, including Unity risers. This optic offers excellent value, providing durability and features at a more affordable price point compared to some competitors.

Overall, the Holosun HS515GM presents as a versatile, durable, and feature-rich optic suitable for a wide range of shooting applications at a money saving price point.

HUXWRX Flow 556K

The HUXWRX Flow 556K, featured in this week’s update, is a compact flow-through suppressor available in both FDE (Flat Dark Earth) and black variants. This K-can (short) suppressor is designed for 5.56mm rifles and offers impressive performance despite its compact size. The Flow 556K‘s innovative flow-through design allows gas to flow through the suppressor, reducing back pressure and minimizing gas blowback to the shooter’s face. While not hearing safe (as expected for a K-can on a 5.56 platform), it provides significant noise reduction and helps to minimize the firearm’s audible signature. The flow-through design also aids in reducing visible muzzle flash, enhancing stealth capabilities. As a K-can, it’s shorter than full-size suppressors, making it ideal for maintaining maneuverability in tight spaces or on shorter barrels. Built to withstand the high pressures and temperatures associated with 5.56mm rifles, the Flow 556K is suitable for various rifle configurations and mission sets. It likely features a quick-attach system for easy mounting and removal. The Flow 556K represents HUXWRX’s (formerly OSS Suppressors) commitment to innovative suppressor technology, designed to provide a balance of sound suppression, flash reduction, and reduced gas blowback while maintaining a compact form factor. This suppressor is an excellent choice for shooters looking to enhance their rifle’s performance without significantly increasing its length or weight.

Sons Of Liberty Gun Works 14.5 Precision 6MM MAXX Barrel

The Sons of Liberty Gun Works (SOLGW) 14.5″ 6MM MAXX precision barrels, highlighted in this week’s update, have recently arrived at Big Tex Ordnance. These barrels are generating significant interest due to their exceptional accuracy and performance, particularly noted during recent shooting events. The 6MM MAXX is a relatively new cartridge that’s gaining popularity for its impressive long-range capabilities in a compact package. SOLGW’s precision barrels are crafted to maximize the potential of this cartridge, offering shooters an excellent balance of accuracy, velocity, and barrel life. The 14.5″ length provides a good compromise between maneuverability and ballistic performance, making it versatile for various shooting applications. Given SOLGW’s reputation for quality AR-15 components, these 6MM MAXX barrels are expected to meet the high standards of precision shooters and competition marksmen alike.

Duramag 5.56/.223 30 Round Stainless Steel Magazines in FDE
