The Beretta 1301 Handguard Assembly makes use of a modified Magpul Zhukov handguard adapted for the Beretta 1301 Tactical and Competition shotguns. The Zhukov handguard features M-LOK slots which can be used to effectively mount lights, slings, MatchSaverZ shell holder, and other accessories*. The hanguard comes with a stainless steel carbon shield installed to prevent carbon and gasses from reaching your hand through the M-LOK slots.
The adapters are CNC machined from 6061 T6 aluminum and Type III Black Hardcoat anodized to milspec thickness. The front adapter utilizes a spring plunger to prevent the front cap (or magazine extension tube) from loosening during recoil. The rear adapters, which are pre-installed on the handguard, interface with the receiver and use a portion of the rear M-LOK slot.
The 1301 Handguard Assembly requires no additional modification and is a drop in replacement right out of the box.
Note: For best results, attach your M-LOK accessories to the hanguard prior to installing on the shotgun. Take note of how many threads extend beyond the backing nut once the accessory is installed. Remove, and cut or grind off excessive threads. Reattach using threadlocker. Failure to cut or grind off excessive length of the screws could interfere with moving parts, especially the rear slots (long screws will interfere with the action bars and lead to reliability problems).
For mounting a sling at the rear M-LOK slot, we recommend the Impact Weapons Components QD Rotation Limited Sling MOUNT-N-SLOT found here. (The pictured QD Socket from Griffin Armament has been discontinued). This only uses one fastener, and therefore will work in the partial rear slot (most QD sockets require an entire M-LOK slot, which is unavailable at the rear due to the rear adapters.)

This is a great addition to the 1301 platform improving it’s functionality by providing M-LOK compatibility to securely mount accessories. Installing a Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount HL-X light (using an Arisaka Defense Inline M-LOK Scout Mount) and tape switch (direct mounted with M-LOK fasteners) was quick and easy, greatly increasing the utility of the weapon in low-light environments . Of note, however, is that while the light is mounted close to the barrel it sits well back from the muzzle resulting in a fair amount of shadowing.
Big Tex Ordnance delivered pricing beat the competition. Ordering and delivery was fast and order communications timely.

Great handguard option for the 1301, I would give it 5 stars but the magpul handguard itself leaves a little to be desired in the way of “robustness”. Seems like this shouldnt cost more than maybe 125ish. Other than that, it’s definitely great to be able to mount a light much closer in with a arisaka scout mount.

I’ve got to echo nstarks22’s review in that this thing isn’t *perfect*, but it’s the best option out there as the Briley handguard is even more situational and that’s the only other aftermarket foregrip option. There’s also the fact that you *should* file down any M-LOK screws that might touch the heat shielding on the underside. Only other tip I can offer is to install any furniture while this is *off* the gun.

This Aridus Industries handguard for the Beretta 1301 Tactical is an amazing upgrade to the already phenomenal 1301 platform. This handguard is a Magpul AK forend that Aridus takes and adapts to the 1301 Tactical shotgun. They add some machining to allow their precise machined adapters to attach both front and rear and they add some heat shield right where it’s needed. This makes for an incredibly robust design that now allows for you to attach just about any M-LOK accessories you would like including flashlights and QD sling mounts. I only subtracted one star because I’m not 100% satisfied with the look and feel of the Magpul hanguard. It is obviously an AK handguard converted to work with the 1301, and in doing so doesn’t fit as seemlessly as I would like in a perfect world, i.e. an OEM specific for the 1301 hanguard designed from Beretta that has all the same features and blends seemlessly with the 1301’s beautiful lines and curves but retains the very common checkered forend design. However it does the job incredibly well and as always Aridus has done an amazing job machining all of their parts and very thoroughly thinking the solution through. If the way it looks doesn’t bother you, you will be 100% satisfied with this solution. I would give 9/10 stars if possible. They are hard to come by as demand is very high. So if it’s in stock, don’t hesitate. It won’t be in stock long…

If you own a 1301 then you are probably familiar with Aridus Industries. You also already know that their products are unobtanium. My suggestion is to follow them on social media, that’s how I learned about Big Tex Ordnance having the Stock Adapter and Handguard in stock. This was my first time shopping with Big Tex Ordnance but will not be my last, super fast shipping and they tossed a bunch of stickers in the box that are not on my ammo cabinet.
As far as the product itself, my only gripe is they are not releasing the handguard in OD Green. Having the ability to attach a light to the 1301 is something I think the designers at Beretta really missed the mark on. The handguard set feels very well made, and installation took less than 5 minutes.
