Cosmetic Blemish Sons Of Liberty Gun Works Lower Receiver

The Sons of Liberty Gun Works AR-15 lower receivers are built from mil-spec 7075-T6 forgings from the lead forge in the U.S. They contour is fully machined leaving no flash marks from the forging. We take extra care when machining our lower receivers resulting in tolerances that are tighter and fits that are better than other lower receivers. We use mil-spec Matte black hard-coat anodized Mil 8625 Type 3 Class 2 finish.

    Overall these are excellent quality “blem” lower receivers. These blems are much better than the stuff Geissele sells for full price. I took off one star because one of the lower receivers did not mate tightly to any of my SOLGW/Ranier/Zev upper receivers like these things are supposed to be known for. That one lower receiver has typical lower-to-upper slop/play but carries a SOLGW Stripes roll mark and fancy anodizing. Looking back, I would have gladly paid the difference for a non-blem copy to guarantee tight fitment. If I wanted a lower with standard slop/play, I’d buy an Anderson. On the bright side, at least this lower is threaded for one of those nylon-tipped screws to be able to apply pressure at the takedown lug. Next time I’ll check fitment with a SOLGW/Mega upper at my FFL before taking receipt of a lower.

    Great looking lower. The blems aren’t even as noticeable as others non blem recievers.

    These are some of the best lowers on the market. Fit and finish are great. Minor blemish, can’t even tell it’s there.

    Once I got this home I played a fun little game of “find the blemish” because I truly couldn’t at first. I finally found the teeniest, tiniest little chip on the top of the mag well frame that you can just barely feel when you run a finger over it and just barely see when looking at it in the right light. Thank you, SOLGW, for making the smallest mistake on planet earth that led to me getting one of your fantastic receivers for a great price.

    Also, Big Tex made the transfer process really easy and quick. All I had to do was give them my FFL info and they took care of the rest. Also, without me even asking, Big Tex kept me CC’d on all emails between them and my FFL just to keep me in the loop about what was going on. Thanks Big Tex! You guys were great
