Hodge Defense Systems bolt carrier groups are no frills, black nitrided bolt carrier groups with a 9310 bolt. When manufactured and heat treated correctly, 9310 is slightly stronger than Carpenter 158 bolts.
HDSI BCGs feature an all chrome gas key, are Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI), properly staked, individually inspected for quality assurance and individually test fired.

Typical Hodge quality, built like a tank, will outlast 99.9% all other BCGs on the market. Everything about it is peak flex, with the exception that this BCG does not utilize OCKS for the gas key. To me, this is a very curious omission, as competing BCGs at this price point include OCKS on their gas keys, and to be honest, is pretty much the standard these days on high tier BCGs. Nevertheless, while this BCG doesn’t utilize OCKS, the bolts are properly staked, and I have no doubt in my mind that this BCG will far outlive me. Buy and use with confidence!
