I have used the Modlite HOG PLHV2 both as a patrol officer(midnight shift) and firearms instructor. The light has withstood several drops and impacts without issue, and has been 100% reliable. The PLHV2 head is a good mixture of spill and throw, easily pushing past dirty light and illuminating what you need to see in all lighting conditions, and cuts through vegetation and window tint as well.

Great light with plenty of lumens and candela. Perfect for outdoor use.

A bit disappointed with this flashlight. While it does have a good amount of throw, it lacks a bit in spill. Despite having the same amount of lumens as the standard PLHv2, the spill is significantly less and the difference is very noticeable indoors
I believe this is due to the lumens to candela ratio, something I wasn’t aware of as all the reviews I watched on YT never mentioned it.
What’s more disappointing is that this light was made with law enforcement application in mind, but the light has no admin mode. So if you’re a cop and pulled someone over for a traffic stop at night time, you pull out this flashlight to read license and registration only to blind yourself in the process. You would need to carry a second flashlight just for admin tasks like that.

Amazing light head – using it both out in the field and also super bright for checking reticle level (when leveling scope)
