Modlite PLHv2 Light Head

This light head is a direct replacement for the Surefire M600DF head. It can be used with the Modlite 18650 body or the smaller Modlite 18350 body.

While lumen output with this light is similar to the Surefire M600DF, the throw is much better suited to allow PID (Positive ID) at greater distances at more than three times the amount throw than the M600DF. This light is a large step forward from the PLHv1 light. Lumen output is about the same but throw is greatly improved. It is the best balance of flood and throw available.

    • Made and assembled in the USA
    • Drivers are fully potted and tested to withstand select fire SCAR 17 recoil.

Dual Fuel Marked Heads: Can be powered by a 18350, 18650 or x2 CR123 We recommend the KeepPower 18650/18350 high drain cells which can be found here. Runtime is about 80 minutes with 18650 and about 40 minutes with the smaller 18350 cells.

Do not stack 18350 cells into an 18650 body this can cause the light to malfunction. Only use 18650 cells in 18650 bodies and 18350 cells in 18350 bodies.

Most people will look at these and think, “300 bucks for a flashlight? GFY!” People that know, know. I was formerly a major fanboy for SureFire products (don’t get me wrong, they’re awesome), but Modlite is the cream of the crop. I have the new OKW head on my MK18 in the 18650 body and loved it so much that I got a PLHv2 in the 18350 body with the Raven Concealment clip for EDC. The fit and finish of these lights is second to none. They feel like such high quality pieces in your hand and perform equally. The flood and throw on the PLHv2 flood is amazing, not to mention the run-time on a single 18350 is awesome! The OKW heads’ throw is extremely impressive considering the lumen rating. It shows how well the reflector, glass, LED module and board were engineered. You can really tell the boys over at Modlite really give a sh!t about making a high quality product. Finally, there’s BigTextOutdoors. What can I say? Every time I order something from BTO, they ship it THE SAME DAY! Even with the Kung-Flu going around and most other businesses taking FOREVER to ship things as a result, BTO still gets my order out the same day! BTO is one of those retailers that will have my business for the foreseeable future.

This light is a laser beam. I was able to PID targets over 100 yards easy. This is definitely the best option for a weapon light or a carry light. I like the new slimmer design too.

Best light on the market right now. You are paying for the best, so don’t hesitate!!!

Much better than the M600DF head. Slightly lower lumen output, but a much more usable hotspot, and clearly defined flood, very usable flood. The uniformity and clearly defined edges of the flood make this head more usable in confined quarters and the blinding hotspot allows you to reach out much further than the M600DF. I genuinely can’t think of a situation where I’d rather have the M600DF over the Modlite.

Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? 100% !

Both the PLHv2 and OKW are amazing lights. I use both heads for handheld applications and as weapon mounted lights and couldn’t be happier.
