Modlite PLHv2 Light Head

This light head is a direct replacement for the Surefire M600DF head. It can be used with the Modlite 18650 body or the smaller Modlite 18350 body.

While lumen output with this light is similar to the Surefire M600DF, the throw is much better suited to allow PID (Positive ID) at greater distances at more than three times the amount throw than the M600DF. This light is a large step forward from the PLHv1 light. Lumen output is about the same but throw is greatly improved. It is the best balance of flood and throw available.

Features

    • Made and assembled in the USA
    • Drivers are fully potted and tested to withstand select fire SCAR 17 recoil.

Dual Fuel Marked Heads: Can be powered by a 18350, 18650 or x2 CR123 We recommend the KeepPower 18650/18350 high drain cells which can be found here. Runtime is about 80 minutes with 18650 and about 40 minutes with the smaller 18350 cells.

Do not stack 18350 cells into an 18650 body this can cause the light to malfunction. Only use 18650 cells in 18650 bodies and 18350 cells in 18350 bodies.

Modlite is at the top of the WML game right now. The PLHv2 is the perfect all around light. Even for people stuck on lumens it boasts 1350 but where it really shines (ba dum, tsst) is the candela. 53k if I recall correctly which blows surefire and Streamlight out of the water. If you have any doubts, don’t. Until surefire steps their game up there’s no reason to get one over a Modlite

By far the best light head for a weapon or handheld light. Perfect combination of lumens and candela. I use to be a sure fire fan, but have made the switch to modlite and won’t look back. Don’t hesitate to pull the trigger on these high quality well built lights and heads

Wow. What a light head. I also have the older PLH head that I use on my EDC light. The updated version is better in every way. Great hotspot, great throw, wide beam, easily illuminated everything up close and has plenty of reach for all my needs. Highly recommend.

I originally had the SF M600DF. It was a nice warm floody light and I liked it. Reviews of this head (PLHv2 ) intrigued me so I bought a few. This light has flood similar to the M600DF with a bit more cool color and a man size hotspot that seems to go for miles!!!!! There are plenty of good reviews on Youtubeway better than me so I won’t go into details. Even a recent one that was very “The Cloud Defensive REIN” slanted but used the (PLHv2 ) in comparison. It actually made the (PLHv2 ) look good because the (PLHv2 ) was waaaaay smaller and performed just as well. I have 2 of these on 11.5″ BCM weapons. I have a third on a 18350 Handheld Body with a Thyrm SwitchBack 2.0 Large. Im very happy!!

This is my first serious weapon light. Purchase and I’m really really happy with it. My only other experience is with Streamlight’s ProTac Railmount 1 and various handheld lights in the 500 lumen range. The Modlite is superb all around. After waiting for the batteries to charge up, I was excited to test out the PLHv2 and compare it with my other lights.
