The Kratos Design Group Gas Block is CNC machined from precision ground 4140 steel bar stock. Featuring a .750 gas journal and a QPQ finish it is an incredibly robust low-profile gas block.

Several features throughout make the installation and maintenance easier.

  • Located directly opposite the gas port hole is a small witness hole that you can use to verify proper alignment of the gas block over the barrel’s gas port. Jordan B. is responsible for providing Kratos Design Group with the idea for this hole. It’s a simple and effective way to visually confirm proper alignment.
  • On the front of the gas block, there is a small hole that can be used to aid in the removal of the gas tube when needed for replacement or inspection. A 1/16″ punch can be used.
  • Our gas block also features a built-in shelf to make drilling easier when pinning the gas block to the barrel. A ⅛” drill bit and ⅛” x ⅝” steel pin is recommended.
  • Included are (3) 10-32 black oxide knurled set screws with a Rockwell hardness of C-45. We include an extra screw because they are easy to lose. Also in the package are (2) stainless steel gas tube coil pins.

10-32 black oxide alloy steel knurled cup-point set screws.  Rockwell hardness of C-45. Allen key drive size: 3/32″. Made in the USA

Gas Tube Coil Pin:

420 Stainless Steel coil pin. 550 pound breaking strength, Rockwell hardness of C46. Chamfered at both ends. Made in the USA

    Extremely thought out gas block with small simple improvements that make a big difference. Installed on a HDSI 14.5” barrel, with a snug fit. Alignment was made simplistic by inserting a pic/punch through the provided gas port witness hole. Kratos Design Group spares no expense with the attaching hardware with serrated cupped screws, and a coiled roll pin. The gas block will benefit novice and experienced builders alike. I was extremely impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to order more. Pics of this build will be uploaded to BTO’s FB group.

    I will also state the Kratos logo is probably the coolest logo I’ve seen in a long time. I was absolutely honored to test this GB, and look forward to seeing what KDG brings us next.

    Fit and finish are great. Installed on a 12.5” ballistic barrel , and it was a solid fit. The witness hole is a nice touch, mounting the gas block on the barrel then attaching the gas tube was a little out of my normal method but I think it’s a feature that will be of great value to recreational builders. Simple, clean, well made, it works as designed and I will add them to my build list for the future.

    Installing on a 13.7 SOLGW barrel it had tight fitment and required a few light taps with a rubber punch to get it seated (exactly what you want). The witness home is such a great addition and took literally all the guesswork out of installing it. Having the extra set screw works well for those of us…. That tend to lose things. Also tried this on a 12.5 Noveske barrel, fitment wasn’t as tight. But after 100 rounds and removal, it was on just as snug as with the SOLGW barrel.

    First impressions are strong with the gas block as the machining is very nice. The knurled-tipped set screws are a nice touch and including a spare was thoughtful as well. The coil pin for the gas tube is a nice upgrade from the traditional slotted roll pin. The fit and finish over all is very impressive and required a small amount of heat to fit on my chopped BCM 11.5 middy barrel which is always welcome. The witness hole made it very easy to align the gas port as well. Overall I think these will be my go to gas block for all my future builds
