The Kratos Design Group Gas Block is CNC machined from precision ground 4140 steel bar stock. Featuring a .750 gas journal and a QPQ finish it is an incredibly robust low-profile gas block.
Several features throughout make the installation and maintenance easier.
- Located directly opposite the gas port hole is a small witness hole that you can use to verify proper alignment of the gas block over the barrel’s gas port. Jordan B. is responsible for providing Kratos Design Group with the idea for this hole. It’s a simple and effective way to visually confirm proper alignment.
- On the front of the gas block, there is a small hole that can be used to aid in the removal of the gas tube when needed for replacement or inspection. A 1/16″ punch can be used.
- Our gas block also features a built-in shelf to make drilling easier when pinning the gas block to the barrel. A ⅛” drill bit and ⅛” x ⅝” steel pin is recommended.
- Included are (3) 10-32 black oxide knurled set screws with a Rockwell hardness of C-45. We include an extra screw because they are easy to lose. Also in the package are (2) stainless steel gas tube coil pins.

Machine work and finish quality are top notch, with a misplaced punch strike not budging the QPQ. Fitment is excellent on the VSeven in the build with the gas port alignment hole making it nice to not use a horoscope. Small parts included were quality and the front tube removal punch hole will be handy down the road. Will absolutely use on my next 0.750 build!

On the manufacturing/smith side, this has normal upgrades that come as standard. Being able to verify gas port and dimple alignment without the use of a borescope is nice. Also, when swapping out barrels with different gas length systems, being able to drive out carbon stuck gas tubes is nice as well. Knurled set screws is a massive bonus. Only con I can say is the whole inteded for pinning the gas block is too small unless its intention is only as a guide. Otherwise, excellent gas block and would use myself.

Installed on a cobalt 10.5” 300BO with a BA barrel with JP SCS and faxon lightweight BCG. Fit and finish were great, and installation was super easy due to the witness hole. Gassed really well, with a nice ejection pattern. No complaints at all with this gas block.
Love the kratos logo, and I even got some snacks and other extras in the package!

Amazing gas block perfect barrel fitment along with some interesting features most notable is the gas port witness hole to verify alligment. Roughly 500 rounds on the upper and no leakage anywhere I was worried about the gas port hole being a point of leakage but this wasn’t a issue especially with the snug gas tube fitment. One of the better gas blocks you can get currently.

My objective review. This block is well made, with pleasant finish, and a great brand logo. I installed it on my basic Aero upper I have. Swapping the blocks was a breeze, alignment assistance is a nice touch. This upper is 16” mid-length gas 223 Wylde chamber, with Androcorp BCG. I put it on a Geissele Super Duty lower with carbine H2 buffer, FN carbine buffer spring and LaRue MBT trigger. I put 120 rounds of Federal 55gr 5.56 through it. Nothing exciting to report, about 4pm ejection every single round, like the block came with the upper. ??Well done.
